KOS

Dodecanese Prefecture, South Aegean Region

In Kos, the vineyards are mainly concentrated on the slopes of Mount Dikaios, at an altitude of approximately 300 m. Although viticulture on the island has a history since ancient times, it has never been a main source of income for the residents. Today, however, the two local producers are trying to revive and qualitatively upgrade viticulture, cultivating both indigenous and international varieties. The wines produced are of high quality and a large part of them are available on the local market, mainly covering the needs of the tourist season.
