In Tinos, one of the northern islands of the Cyclades, wine production is developing rapidly, with the number of producers constantly increasing. The island is characterized by a hot, dry climate and strong winds, while its morphology is mainly hilly. The vineyards are mainly located in the center of the island, often formed on terraces with low plant shapes. Many vineyards include large granite rocks, known as "volakes". The cultivated varieties are mainly Greek and include Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, Mavrotragano, Mandilaria, Avgoustiati, as well as the local Potamisi, Rozaki and Koumari.
