FTHIOTIDA

Fthiotida Prefecture, Central Greece Region

In Fthiotida, viticulture includes both indigenous and international varieties. In the Atalanti region, over the last thirty years or so, many indigenous and foreign varieties have been successfully established, with Cabernet Sauvignon standing out. The climate is mild and favorable for the ripening of grapes, thanks to the effect of the sea breeze on the coastal vineyards during the day, as well as the cool currents from Parnassos. The region has shown rapid development in recent times, with particularly positive results in the quality and production of wines.
