Area: Regional unit of Achaia, in subsets of the zones of Roditis and Mavrodaphne,
mainly in the areas of Vrachnaeika, Dymi, Larissa, Messatida, Paralia, Rio, Farres,
Oleni, and to a lesser extent in the NE parts of Patras.

Characteristics and Notes

White Muscat (Moschoudi) participates in 5 Greek PDO wines: Kefalonia, Rio
Patras, Rhodes, Samos. The sweet wines PDO Muscat of Patras are produced from
grapes from privately owned vineyards with low yields per acre. They can be labeled
“from selected vineyards” (grand cru) if they meet strict quality and origin criteria.
