Characteristics

The only PDO or PGI wine in the regional unit of Kefalonia that also includes production from Ithaca. The Mavrodaphne variety in Kefalonia has different clones compared to Achaia. Wine
production is permitted by wineries outside the zone, as long as they are located on
the island of Kefalonia.
