Year of establishment: 1971 Location: Western Kefalonia, mainly on the Paliki
peninsula Areas: Lixouri, Zola, Katogi, Soulari, Skineas, Chavdata Cultivation is limited
and is mainly located in the northern part of Paliki
The production of wines from wineries outside the zone is permitted, as long as they
are located on the island There is the possibility of producing sweet wines with the
indication from “selected vineyards” (grand cru) under the condition of using grapes from privately owned vineyards with low per acre yield. The Muscat white variety is
also cultivated in other Greek PDO wines, such as the PDO Muscat of Patras, Rio
Patras, Rhodes and Samos
